Gender and sexual minorities experience a disproportionally higher rate of mental illness, physical illness, housing instability, food instability, academic, and work-related problems. A key predictor of all of these negative outcomes is living and working in communities that are not designed to welcome and include LGBTQ+ people in community life and policy. Darcy works with school systems, universities, churches and community organizations, government agency, and private entities to review their corporate policies, practices, and curricula to ensure equitable treatment and coverage, update signs, forms, websites, and corporate publications to include inclusive language, and provide comprehensive LGBTQ+ cultural competency training.
